What a Specific Issue Order is
A Specific Issue Order under section 8 of the Children Act 1989 allows the court to determine a single, specific question about the exercise of parental responsibility.
Judges look for fathers who have tried to resolve the issue reasonably, focused on the child's welfare, and can present the question narrowly and credibly.
